Elisa has been riding bikes for over 20 years and is passionate about all things bike related! She started riding with Edinburgh Road Club in her twenties and did four years of track racing at Meadowbank. Her biking took a back seat when she had her daughter Ruby-Soho. It wasn't until she was riding and started school that her passion for biking and her pathway into coaching started. She qualified as a Bikeability coach and set up an after school club at Ruby's school in Haddington with another mum. She did this for 3 years then set up a balance bike class as a business. She also set up a kids bike club and applied for funding to do her TCL. The same year she qualified she moved to Peebles and her passion for mountain biking and then coaching has taken off from there. It's now her (almost) full time job. She’s coached all sorts of people of all ages, but love’s coaching women and girls, bringing them out of their shell and giving them confidence. In the past 3 years she’s qualified as a British Cycling Level 2 coach and Mountain Bike coach and also started racing cyclocross. She plan’s to qualify as a cx coach next year and get as many women as possible racing and riding cyclocross so women can have their own category at races.
Elisa is heavily involved in the setting up and running of the Minimaidens Attack squad and so it seemed fitting that she join the Air Maiden team too!! We look forward to her sharing her passion for mtb and cx coaching in 017 and beyond!
